Father’s day is just around the corner. Some people celebrate and see the day as an opportunity to spend quality time with their fathers and husbands, whereas others feel its just another commercial excuse to make people spend money! What does Father’s day mean to you? Is it a day you enjoy? Do the kids get involved and buy or make cards?
Our daughter has already told me that she thinks we need to take daddy out for lunch in Farnham! She has also told me that daddy really wants the new Frozen magic snow sleeve! Apparently he told her that, but I am not allowed to tell him, it’s a surprise!! It would definitely be a surprise!
Growing up, I was never aware of Father’s day, I never even knew when it was as my father passed away when my brother and I were very young. It was only when our mum remarried that I started paying attention to Father’s day, I was nearly twenty at this stage.
My Stepfather is a kind and good man; always ready to help when needed but the down side…he has terrible jokes! Later I met my husband and soon after we had a little girl of our own. My father-in-law is a big part of our life, although he lives in Ireland we keep in regular contact when we can. He loves nothing more then spending time with his granddaughter or speaking to her on Skype.
My husband, stepfather and father-in-law are all very important men in my life. I know how important they are in my daughters life and will continue to be so. She thinks the world of them. Father’s day means so much more to me then it did growing up. Our daughter enjoys making cards or pictures for them and now she is old enough to understand, I enjoy getting her more involved.
Connan took some wonderful photos of our lovely family, which I would like to share with you all.
If you would like to make fathers day extra special why not book a photoshoot either at our studio or a special location of your choice. Photos hold such powerful memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Happy fathers day to every husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. I wish you all a wonderful day whatever your plans may be.
