We all adore and love our children but they grow up so quickly, before we know it they have flown the nest. We have always taken photos throughout our daughter’s life, we have photos on the walls, numerous photo albums and scrapbooks of images scattered around the house. We spend a lot of time looking through photos and simply love the memories they conjure up.

Child portrait photography is something that we feel quite strongly about, its so important for children to see themselves and their families up on the wall. We saw an article about the importance of child and family photography and how it helps to raise a child with confidence and self esteem.
“David Krauss, a licensed psychologist from Cleveland, Ohio says, “I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit. A photographer’s job is to create and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.”
We are very passionate about capturing the characters and personalities of children of all ages from toddlers to teenagers. We feel it is so important to capture who each child is whether they are quiet and shy, loud and boisterous or cheeky little monkeys. It’s their expressions which tell a story and these stories you will want to remember for years to come.
It’s not about getting children to pose a certain way which is out of character and awkward. We like the children to feel safe and comfortable. Our photographer will start taking photos while small children explore the studio and play with toys. Its a very relaxed environment. Most children get used to the camera quite quickly and their gorgeous little personalities break through.
Teenagers can be quite stubborn especially in front of a camera but we work with them and their parents to capture images that everyone will be happy with.
If your looking for something completely different and fun for your children, why not put them in The Box! We have a bespoke box which is fantastic for a group of children. We have had up to 6 older kids in the box all dressed up in onesies! A framed Box montage looks amazing on the wall.
